Henkel Ireland today announced the senior appointment of Yves-Edouard Desombre, who joins Henkel Ireland as its new Site Manager.   Desombre will be based at Henkel’s largest Irish operation situated in Tallaght, Co. Dublin. 

Henkel’s Dublin facility is now entering a significant new era that commences 40 years after it started to develop and manufacture its products sold under the well-known ‘Loctite’ brand - the worldwide manufacturer of acrylic, cyanoacrylate, epoxy, urethane and hot melt adhesives for industrial and consumer applications.

In line with its vision to be recognized as the best-in-class operations for Anaerobics and Cyanoacrylates manufacturing, Henkel Ireland has recently completed a comprehensive project of process improvement and lean manufacturing which has resulted in a positive impact on its volumes which have seen growth of 15% in the last 18 months.  This recent recruitment reflects changes to its management team to ensure its continued dynamism in further strengthening Henkel’s Dublin operations and supply chain processes.

As Site Manager at Henkel, Desombre will be responsible for all of Henkel’s manufacturing and filling engineering adhesives.  His main areas of responsibility will be in managing, developing and coaching teams to manufacture in compliance with quality, cost, safety, environment and lead-time standards. 

Desombre joins from Henkel France, where he worked as Site Manager for the last two years.  Prior to this, he worked as System Plant Manager at Henkel Adhesives, California and before that as Production Manager, Henkel France.  Before joining Henkel, he was a Building Co-ordinator for Eseka’s diocese in Cameroon.  Desombre is a highly-skilled multipurpose engineer whose specialist areas lie in mechanics, automatism and chemistry.  He holds a degree in engineering from the Institut Catholique d’Arts et Metiers in Nantes.
